I enjoy eating Korean food. They served many side dishes which are called Ban Chan. The most distinguishing feature in Korean food is their spiciness. They like their red pepper paste a lot, it is called Go Ju Jang.
Kimchi is always served in Korean restaurant. Some said that without it, they could not have their meals. It is like a 'drug' to them. Well, it is more of an acquire taste though. Personally, I didn't like it at all when I first tried it, but after numerous attempt, I started liking it better. Well, kimchi itself is as good as yoghurt. Perhaps that was the reason why I coaxed myself to eat it.
Korea itself is a fast growing country. In the city Seoul, one can see how rapidly the country which was once ruled by Japanese has progressed into a modern nation. It is equipped with the latest technology and the people worked really hard. However, there is something special about Korea that makes it different from other developed countries. Despite the fact that it is ever growing, it did not lose its taste. Korea is still fiercely traditional and historical. Walking down the streets, I find myself blend between the 21st century, the late 70s and the 1880s. A lot of culture and tradition are still strictly followed, and many ancient palaces are preserved.
Talk about the society. I think there is still quite a noticeable inequality between the man and the women. I think women still do not have as much right as the male does in the society, namely workplace and family.
To be honest, it would be really tough for a foreign women to marry a korean man. She will have to overcome all the culture and social barrier. As for a korean women to marry a foreign man, she would really be considered as a fortunate lady.
Above said are just some of my personal view points. Hold me against not.
